#143/365--Celebrations

As if I need a reason to celebrate my kids...they both had an amazing school year with commended results on their tests and I wanted to congratulate them...(and let me tell you, it was not easy--the school year, I mean)...

They are so excited about all the pictures I take.  I know you can't see it, but they really are--deep down inside.

#142/365--Outside, with Sandy

#141/365--In Honor of...

...Lauren!  I didn't get the opportunity to wish Lauren a "Happy Birthday" on the morning of her birthday (other than text), or to cook her "birthday breakfast" since she was with her dad.  Which is why, on Saturday morning, I made homemade pancakes...

...then she was off to Six Flags with choir (end of the year celebration)...
and I got to spend the afternoon with my favorite boy!

...who wanted to bake Lauren's official birthday cake...
...and when Lauren got home from Six Flags...
...we officially sang "Happy Birthday!"
We love our Lauren!

#139/365--Awesome 80's and 27 on My List of 40

Lauren's Junior High choir had their spring concert tonight.  The theme was, "Awesome 80's!"  I took complete advantage of the opportunity to convert my daughter into a "mini-me."

She was having NONE of it.  Not a single bit.  But that's ok.  I sorta took over the curling iron...
This is actually the after-effect.  You see, I, too, was going to wear my hair up--totally 80's style...like this:
...but then...I felt like a total wannabe.  Wait.  What?  Me?  A Wannabe?  Dude.  I was there.  I lived the eighties!!  Bahaha!

The concert was so very much fun!  Made me want to go sing more karaoke.  Here's some video of the show.  The song choices were excellent :)

Lauren is located right in the middle of this, very poor video, by the mike.

Some S-S-S-S-A-A-A-A-F-F-F-F-E-E-E-E-T-T-T-T-Y-Y-Y-Y-safesafesafety dancedancedance for ya?

Maybe a little hope, with Don't Stop Believin'?

Enjoy!

#138/365--Hodge Podge

I have an assortment of pics from today that I want to include.  It's sort of how my brain is functioning these days--very scattered, jumping from thought to thought.  Here we go...

1st:  Baseball injury--Mikey got hit while he was at bat during his game over the weekend.  The picture is a few days old...the bruise is getting worse...

2nd:  Part of the rebuild from my "flood" a few weeks ago (c'mon, let's be specific, 55 days ago), was completed today...(you know this means partial completion of 22 on my list of 44)...

3rd:  Did you KNOW a daisy and a dandelion are part of the same flower family?!  Maybe you did know this and I am a little behind the curve here.  I was looking at my flowerbed--you know, the one I planted way back...oh...a few months ago--or more specifically, 62 days ago? Anyway...I was looking at the flowers thinking--wow I need to weed the flowerbed...I've got dandelions growing...but then it occured to me that it was, in fact, the daisies I had planted.  Wow, I thought to myself,  My daisy leaves sure do look like my dandelion leaves (yes, I have dandelions ALL over my backyard).  Next thing you know, I had out my handy-dandy iPhone, looking up daisies and dandelions.  Sure enough.

I have had more random thoughts but perhaps I'll leave you to ponder the Daisy-Dandelion relationship...
