#120/365--Subtitles, or 19 on My List of 40 Things
Tara and I decided to watch "The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo" tonight. It was ok...not my favorite foreign film that I've ever watched...but I'm still checking it off my list of 40 things to do before I turn 40!!

#119/365--Giant Wishes
I've heard things are bigger in Texas...but dandelions? As I was driving to school today I saw these giant, dandelion-looking flowers on the side of the road and HAD to take a picture...dude. What if I made a wish on that??!!

#114/365--Easter, and 34 on my list of 40
I decided what better time to unplug from technology and enjoy my family than Easter? Let me tell you it was hard for me...I wanted to check my phone as soon as I woke up. And there were several times during the day that I wanted to check in on Facebook to see what everyone was up to and also wanted to update my status several times during the Ranger game...
...we had great seats, too...not behind home plate, but right down the first base fowl line. I just knew all my Facebook family was missing me terribly. Funny thing--once I logged back on, I noticed that eLife went on without me. It was a little bittersweet...but I really enjoyed my time with the kids and my mom without the distraction of my phone addiction. That may need to become a "more than once-a-week" habit. Technology is wonderful. But sometimes, it makes my brain feel all jumbled up inside like there are too many things trying to go on at once. >.<

#111/365--#8 on my List of 40
Yep. It's me doing a little Ke$ha damage. I won't post the video because as hilariously fun as it was...well...what the what...I should totally post the video. What can you do but laugh with my crazy self!! It's bad. I warn ya. It's "horrible karaoke."
Karaoke is like a drug. Once you do it, regardless of how bad it is, you totally want more. And you ask yourself...what should I sing next?!? I sang back up Kansas, with my good friend, Julia. I sang a little Eminem--well, I mean I attempted to rap Eminem--but it truly sounds better in the G6. I'm going back for more. I hope YOU are there with us!! What an amazing night. Greatness disguised as a sing-a-long!!
The next American Idol? Not even close. But--what's that comedy show?! Maybe!!

#110/365--Dirty Field Trip
I was lucky enough to go with my fifth grader on his field trip today. :)
Pre-Science Test observation stations--ours(Mrs. Wilson and myself) was Earth (out of Earth, Wind, Fire, and Water--I almost want to start singing..."do you remember....the 21st night of September..."). Good times. We also saw this cool bird...can't figure out what it is, though.
I'm calling it a blue-headed woodpecker. That's the Franco name for it. If you know the scientific name...lemme know! ;)

#109/365--Soccer Storm
Lauren is playing soccer for her school team (as well as, rec soccer) and yesterday was their first game. I wasn't sure if I was going to make it to the game because traffic was insane. But sitting in traffic gave me the opportunity to watch the weather begin to develop...and the closer I got, the uglier the sky became. This is what the sky looked like, once I arrived at the field...
...it was only pea-size...but it sure sounded like someone was pounding a hammer on the G-6. Luckily, no damage done to the vehicle. But, there was a nice little gift from my Sandy girl...I thought it might be ok if I didn't post a pic of that... :)
...and this was my Soccer girl on the field...already playing...with the sound of thunder in the background...which indicated lightning was near...
The principal came out--about 5 minutes after I got there (enough time to see my girl play for a short bit--because she was pulled for a sub, also about 5 minutes after I got there)...and he informed us that the game had to be cancelled due to a thunderstorm warning in the county (headed our way). At this point, I signed Lauren out, drove her to her dad's, and headed home, myself--knowing full well to expect a nice present from my sweet dog. About 5 miles from my house, the hail began......it was only pea-size...but it sure sounded like someone was pounding a hammer on the G-6. Luckily, no damage done to the vehicle. But, there was a nice little gift from my Sandy girl...I thought it might be ok if I didn't post a pic of that... :)

#108.5/365--Happiness Lives at My House...
I <3 seeing him read like this.
YAY he loves Harry Potter!
Lauren came into my bedroom a little bit later, when Mikey and I had moved upstairs and were reading together. She declared, "ugh! Nerds!" We have to convince her to read them, then she'll understand! Literally, he read all evening...even after bedtime with his booklight...I bet if I go in there right now (10pm)...he's still reading...Love it.
#108/365--WTWF...or World Thumb Wrestling Federation...
...and tonight, you could find it at Cici's Pizza...
When my kids were younger, and Cici's night came around, we'd go, and the kids would run crazy around Cici's with their friends, playing games and begging me for money. Now that they have gotten a bit older, we still go every time it's Cici's night--but that's because, hey, it's pizza, it's a good cause, and mostly because I don't have to cook! Mikey and Lauren don't run around the restaurant with their friends, playing games, asking for quarters anymore. Mostly, they sit with me and we talk and laugh and enjoy our pizza, socializing. Tonight, we sat by the kiddie vending machines. You know the ones. They lure you in with promises of yummy candies and the coolest toys you can only find here for only 50 cents. My kids fell victim to the propaganda tonight and I guess I did, too, scrounging up quarters and loose change so they could both get something of equal value. Yes. They are thumb wrestling puppets. :)
Joy.

#107/365--Crispy
I was relishing the sun and nice temps today, during Mikey's baseball tournament. It was simply beautiful outside. I got so caught up sitting on my blanket, reading Harry Potter, that I completely lost track of time...
that's my neck-burn...and also my elf ears (so someone calls them)
I wore my hair up today-which I haven't been able to do for the past few summers...ouch.
Yeah. Ouch.
One word.
Sunscreen.

#101/365--After; or the Beginning of 26 on My List of 40
If only I had gotten a before shot...wait...maybe you can imagine it...take these nice, neat bins...
...and picture them dumped all over the closet (and bedroom, and under the bed) floor...
Ok so possibly, it wasn't THAT bad. Ok. Yes. It was.

#100/365--Brussels Sprouts, or #7 on My List of 40 Things
No, I've never tried these. My kids are asking, "why is that on your list...?" Frankly, I have no clue why...maybe I was searching for things that would be easy...or maybe I thought it would be helpful in my quest to be healthier...whatever the reason, this is our veggie-side for dinner tonight.
I sautéed them in salt and butter. The result...
Hmm...
Not bad...not my favorite veggie ever...but not horrible...
Lauren says she doesn't mind them, they taste like Chinese food. Mikey just crinkled his nose. But hey--they tried them with me. Here's to healthy yuckiness!

#97/365--Almond Branches, or 24 on my list of 40
As another team-building activity, our wonderful Kindergarten team became Van Goghs tonight. Fortunately, this allowed me to not only bond with my co-kinder-hearts, but also cross something off of my list of 40 things (see prior post).
We began with a blank canvas...
...and a list of rules...
((I'm thinking I can follow these rules pretty closely!))
Background...
...beginning of branches...
...more branching...
...and still more branching...
...add some blossoms...
...and an artistic signature...
...and you end up with 5 Masterpieces...
...and one wonderfully bonded Kindergarten team!
